Introduction to Clinical Drug and Substance Abuse Research Methods

This online training program is sponsored for 2-8 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM by the University of Arizona College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center.

Physicians can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit and purchase a high resolution printable electronic CME certificate(view sample); non-physicians can purchase high resolution printable electronic certificate of course participation that references AMA PRA Category 1 credit (view sample). We do not offer printed certificates.


You can purchase an electronic certificate when you complete a program module or from the "Account" tab. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal for payment.

The charge for a certificate is based on the number of credits that each module provides. One credit costs $20 USD. Your certificate will display the module(s) you completed as part of the program:

  • The Neurobiology of Drug Addiction - 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits - Certificate cost = $60 USD.

  • Biostatistics for Drug and Substance Abuse Research - 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits - Certificate cost = $60 USD.

  • Evaluating Drug and Substance Abuse Programs - 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits - Certificate cost = $40 USD.

  • Designing and Managing Drug and Substance Abuse Clinical Trials - 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits - Certificate cost = $60 USD.

Certificates are issued online. We do not offer printed certificates. You can download and print your certificate as soon as you complete a module and pay for the certificate. You can also wait until you complete all modules and then pay for and download a single certificate. We will keep a record of your coursework, so you can also return at a later time to download your certificate(s).
